Drone technology had emerged as an important geospatial tool that supported evidencebased planning through the generation of high-resolution spatial information. This study
assessed the application of drone technology in land use planning in Digos City, Davao
del Sur, Philippines. Specifically, it evaluated the application of drone technology in land
use mapping, environmental monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, and disaster risk
assessment; identified the challenges affecting its application; and proposed
recommendations for enhancing its utilization in local planning. The study employed a
quantitative descriptive research design using a researcher-developed questionnaire
administered to fifty (50) purposively selected stakeholders from various government
offices involved in planning, environmental management, infrastructure development, and
disaster risk reduction. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, weighted mean,
and thematic analysis for the open-ended responses. Results revealed that drone
technology was perceived as Very Highly Applied, obtaining an overall weighted mean of
4.65. Environmental monitoring recorded the highest category mean (4.79), followed by
land use mapping (4.62), disaster risk assessment (4.60), and infrastructure monitoring
(4.57). Respondents also identified the need to strengthen institutional policies and
support, provide adequate financial resources, and enhance technical capacity as the
primary challenges affecting wider drone utilization. Thematic analysis further identified
six major recommendations, namely capacity building and technical training, acquisition
of drone equipment, budget allocation, policy and institutional support, technology
enhancement, and inter-agency collaboration. The findings suggested that while
stakeholders strongly recognize the value of drone technology in supporting land use
planning, its successful integration requires sustained institutional commitment, adequate
resources, and continuous capacity development.
ABSTRACT
Tourism plays a vital role in local economic development by generating employment, supporting local businesses, and promoting environmental and cultural conservation. Accessibility is a key factor influencing visitor mobility and the sustainable development of tourism destinations. This study assessed the spatial accessibility of tourism destinations in Digos City, Davao del Sur, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Specifically, it determined the road travel distance and estimated travel time from Rizal Park, the designated city center, to selected tourism destinations, assessed accessibility based on the existing road network, and classified destinations into High, Moderate, and Low Accessibility categories. A descriptive spatial analysis design was employed using QGIS. Primary data were collected through GPS field verification, while secondary data included road network datasets, tourism destination locations, administrative boundaries, satellite imagery, and tourism inventory records. GIS network analysis was used to generate the shortest travel routes, calculate travel distances, estimate travel times, and produce accessibility maps. Results showed that tourism destinations located within the urban and coastal areas exhibited higher accessibility due to shorter travel distances and travel times, while upland destinations in Barangay Kapatagan demonstrated lower accessibility because of greater distances and mountainous terrain. The study highlights the usefulness of GIS in supporting tourism planning, transportation improvement, and sustainable land-use planning in Digos City.

Mathematics entered physics as a tool, but gradually it turned into the master of physics.
In other words, a lot of people think that math can produce physics, when in fact it's the other way around.
The most striking example is the current incomplete Schrödinger equation describing the complex wave function psi, treated and handled as part of mathematics, while its square Psi^2 is more realistic and more effective.
In other words replacing the Schrödinger PDE describing the complex wave function Ψ with its square SES describing Ψ square in the frame of closed control volume, unexpectedly increases the amount of information and generate new quantum physics.

The real answer to the title question is that most people know nothing about the true mathematics of a unified four-dimensional spacetime, which is essential for describing classical and quantum physics, including those who have been indoctrinated with Minkowski, Einstein and Schrodinger’s ideas about R^4 space and whom we regard as the source of all evil.

Finally, it is important to note that this article does not aim to diminish the significant contributions of great physicists and mathematicians such as Einstein, Schrödinger, Bohr, Heisenberg, Minkowski, Hilbert, Riemann, and others, but rather to address the most prominent shortcomings and limitations of their theories, where applicable.

The rapid growth of social media networks has transformed digital communication and lead to the generation of voluminous data. Social media cybercrime investigations require the analysis of a huge amount of data that may be present on different platforms. The examination of social media-related evidence is challenging due to its transient nature, easily modifiable features, and cloud storage. The existing digital forensic analysis models and frameworks primarily focus on data collection, examination, and analysis but have limited capabilities for verifying the source of evidence, preserving its integrity, and maintaining Chain of Custody. To overcome these limitations, a novel digital forensic framework-Social Media Evidence Authentication and Attribution Framework with Continuous Integrity Monitoring (SMEA-CIM) is proposed.
The proposed SMEA-CIM framework overcomes the limitations of existing frameworks and tools, using ten phase investigation process with continuous chain of custody management. The key feature of this framework is continuous integrity monitoring. The integrity is maintained by re-verifying hash values and creating verification logs in each phase. The framework further incorporates behavioral correlation, content attribution, multimedia forensic analysis, AI-assisted evidence prioritization, and comprehensive chain of custody management to enhance the reliability and admissibility of digital evidence.
Before the coming of Europeans, Uasin Gishu plateau was a home for wildlife and the inhabitants had over time mastered the act of living alongside these animals symbiotically and sustainably. For example, some areas that contained lions, such as Sergoit Hill, were accorded sacred status and treated with outmost respect. However, European incursions disrupted this pattern leading to decimation of these animals in Uasin Gishu. First, they engaged in a frenzy of killing the lions under the guise of ‘game hunting’ then later on established large scale farming which perceived the lions as a threat to their animals and had to be extinguished. This study therefore demonstrated some of these activities. It was guided by one objective namely analyze how European settlement in Uasin Gishu led to the decimation of lions by 1930. It was motivated by the Political Ecology theory which argues that there is an intersection between the power decision makers and ecological conservation. In this case, Europeans by passed the indigenous conservation approaches and imposed their own notion of conserving the game and in the process led to a decimation of the wildlife. The study employed the qualitative method in which data was sourced from internet sources, memoirs of early visitors, settlers of Uasin Gishu as well as authoritative sources from journals and newspaper reporting. Analysis was thematic in which the responses were paraded against the objective and analyzed in prose. It is expected that the study will yield a nuanced understanding of how conservation was gotten wrong at the inception of European incursion in Uasin Gishu and explain its impact on the decimation of this very important wildlife.
This research investigated the geographical features of valleys in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, and their effects on the social, economic, and environmental situations of nearby communities. By concentrating on the four main valleys – Bugna, Kilablab, Maribojoc, and Rosario – the study employed qualitative approaches, including interviews, observations, and photographic documentation, to explore the connection between human activities and the natural environment. The results revealed that the valleys offered fertile soil and water resources that supported agriculture as the main source of livelihood. Nonetheless, they encountered considerable challenges such as soil erosion, water contamination, flooding, and inadequate infrastructure. Quarrying operations in certain valleys provided economic advantages at the cost of heightened environmental deterioration. Furthermore, geographically isolated valleys faced restricted access to services and opportunities.
The study investigates the effect of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices on operational performance in the Nigerian manufacturing sector. ESG has become a global standard for sustainability and competitiveness. However, in Nigeria, the focus of research has been on financial reporting and the operational impact is yet to be known. The research was based on stakeholder theory, legitimacy theory and resource-based view. The study adopted a panel research design and data from 30 manufacturing enterprises over a period of 10 years (2014 – 2023). The environmental practices were energy efficiency, waste management and emissions reduction, the social practices were employee welfare, workplace safety and community engagement and the governance practices were board structure, audit independence and shareholder rights. Operational performance was measured by an index that included efficiency, productivity and profitability. The findings from the fixed-effects regression analysis indicate that environmental and governance practices significantly affect the improvement of operational performance, while social practices, although positively associated, were not statistically significant. Ownership structure had an impact on efficiency, while firm size was not significant. The findings highlight governance as the key ESG attribute driving operational performance in Nigeria and the importance of transparency, accountability and board effectiveness. The study concludes that embedding ESG practices into the core strategy improves competitiveness, resource efficiency and sustainability. It supports stricter rules for ESG standards and supports the active use of environmental improvements, social programs for employees, and changes in management to achieve better performance in Nigerian manufacturing companies.
This study examines the effect of the low implementation rate of internal audit missions on public financial management within the General Headquarters of the Congolese National Police during the period 2020–2024. Using a quantitative approach supported by documentary analysis, the research relies on audit reports, annual audit plans and public finance regulations to assess the implementation of internal audit activities.
The findings reveal that inadequate financial and logistical resources are the main causes of the low implementation rate of internal audit missions. This situation weakens internal control, reduces the detection of financial irregularities and limits improvements in financial governance. The study therefore recommends strengthening the operational capacity of the internal audit function to enhance public financial management.
La ville de Bunia en République Démocratique du Congo fait face à une augmentation massive du nombre d’enfant fréquentant la rue quotidiennement comme lieu de vie. Ces enfants consomment fréquemment les substances psychoactives, notamment les solvants volatils (colle a chaussure Pattex et essence). Cette étude vise à explorer les stratégies d’entraide de ceux qui ne consomment pas ces solvants envers ceux qui en consomment et à analyser l’influence des caractéristiques sociodémographiques telles que l’âge, le sexe, le niveaux d’étude et la durée passée dans la rue en relation avec la consommation de ces substances.
La recherche a été menée auprès d’un échantillon de 200 enfants et adolescents se trouvant dans la rue de Bunia (100 consommateurs des solvants et 100 non-consommateurs). Cet échantillon a été constitué grâce à la technique de la boule de neige. Les données ont été collectées via les entretiens semi-directifs.
Les résultats de cette étude montrent que les non-consommateurs des solvants volatils proposent des conseils et de la solidarité, ils sont des modèles alternatifs aux consommateurs et proposent des activités non addictives à leur pairs consommateurs. Les statistiques (Khi-deux) montrent que l’âge (p = 0,642), le sexe (p = 0,234), le niveau d’étude (p = 0,671) et la durée passée dans la rue (p = 0,564) n’influencent pas cette consommation.
Clear aligner therapy has become a mainstream modality in contemporary orthodontics, yet its clinical predictability remains closely tied to the physicochemical and mechanical behavior of the materials employed. This narrative review synthesizes recent literature on the materials science and biomechanics of clear aligners, covering conventional thermoplastic polymers (polyethylene terephthalate glycol and polyurethane), directly three-dimensional (3D)-printed photocurable resins, and the emerging class of shape memory polymers (SMP). Evidence indicates that conventional thermoformed materials undergo measurable degradation in hardness, elastic modulus, and flexural strength following thermoforming and intraoral aging, contributing to unpredictable force decay over the wear cycle. Directly printed aligners, enabled by resins such as Tera Harz TC-85, offer improved dimensional accuracy, slower stress relaxation, and shape-memory behavior, although robust clinical validation remains limited. Composite resin attachments, used to enhance force transmission, show variable mechanical and optical performance depending on resin viscosity and filler composition, while finite-element models validated against exper-imental force transducers have improved understanding of force and moment delivery at the tooth level. Despite these ad-vances, the literature consistently highlights the scarcity of long-term, high-quality clinical trials capable of translating in vitro material advantages into confirmed clinical superiority. Future research should prioritize standardized testing protocols and prospective clinical studies bridging materials science and orthodontic biomechanics.
