This research investigated the link between climate change and COVID-19 based on systematic literature review. Thematic analysis followed to find the relationship of climate change and COVID-19, challenges from the current worldwide pandemic, and measures to fight COVID-19 to reduce climate change impacts, synthesizing of 39 articles obtained from Scopus database until 30th June, 2020. COVID-19 is a zoonotic disease, which is spread with a mechanism of human-to-human transmission throughout the world due to climate change caused for the biodiversity crises, underpinning on the overuse of land for agriculture. This disease passes from animal to human for disturbing the ecosystem services. Temperatures and environmental factors contribute to the survival of different coronavirus, while there were no associations of epidemic growth with latitude and temperature, but weak negative associations with relative humidity. In addition, temperatures had a negative linear relationship with the COVID-19 in tropical climate in particular. This pandemic is a global threat to human health and economy that correlated between the disease and specific geophysical parameters-surface air temperature, precipitation, elevation, and human-related characteristics-CO2 and population density. The carbon footprint (CF) in the lockdown period is lower than the past, where environmental pollutants have a significant correlation with the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the current crisis like other transnational threats such as climate change, extinction of biological species, SARS or Ebola, is conflicting with neoliberal economic models. Besides, ‘fear of loss of loved ones, and fear of loss of love’, wariness and uncertainty of climate, health and health care affect, climate characteristics, overtourism, and unique public health challenge are the important challenges imposed from the ongoing corona virus disease. However, meat equity globally could ensure the progress for future generations on ‘spaceship’ earth through controlling over population quality, thermostat and biodiversity to combat current COVID-19 and climate crisis. Besides, there are essential measures found for combating existing climate change impacts, COVID-19 and future pandemic like WHO’s singular global authority, public health infrastructures reinforcement, implementation of Paris Agreement for climate, one Health measures in Africa, restrictions of mass gatherings, social distancing measures, school closure, “Sustainability transition policy”, 5 key areas of public health systems – governance, information, services, determinants and capacity, and governmental measures. Hence, this study is not beyond limitation of empirical observation, what will be the future endeavor in the field.
The aim of the study was to ascertain Economics students’ perceptions about the state of the use technology in the teaching of Economics in selected Senior High Schools in the Central Region of Ghana. The study was a descriptive type which employed the survey design. Respondents of this study comprised 150 Senior High School form 2 Economics students drawn from the Cape Coast Metropolis in the Central Region of Ghana. A 33-item questionnaire was used to elicit response from students. A reliability index of .904 was obtained. The data were analyzed using frequency and percentages, mean and standard deviation, and independent sample t-test statistical techniques. The findings of the study revealed that technological tools such as computers, presentation software and projectors, can be employed in the teaching of Economics. Again, it was found that Economics teachers rarely make use of available technologies in the teaching of the subject. Further, students were also found to exhibit positive attitude when technology is used in teaching. Finally, the study revealed that there was no significant difference in the SHS Economics students’ perspectives when technology is used in Economics lessons based on gender. It was recommended that Ghana Education Service (GES) should organize seminars and in-service training for Economics teachers as way of exposing them to the types of technology and how to use them in teaching. Also, the Ministry of Education and GES should provide technological resources needed by schools.
The paper presents a simple design and implementation of a remote controlled system for ceiling fan. It enables the user to operate a fan regulator from approximately 10 meters away. That is, the speed of the fan can be changed from your couch or bed. The remote transmits a signal or pulse by means of an infrared light emitting diode (LED). This signal is then received by an infrared (IR) receiver which then switches to activate the receiver circuit for the remote controlled ceiling fan regulator. A display unit indicates the speed levels. Five speed levels are digitally displayed as the speed of the fan is automatically selected. The entire system was broken down into functional unit blocks namely: Infrared transmitter, infrared receiver, control logic and driver, display unit, automatic speed selector, manual speed selector, load control and power supply unit. This research aims to determine the level feeding of Lemna sp. fresh against the growth of tilapia. The study was conducted in December until February 2020 at the Laboratory Fisheries of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University. The research method used is the experimental Complete Random Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment is A (control), B (15% Lemna sp.), C (20% Lemna sp.), and D (25% Lemna sp.). The observed parameters are survival rate, specific growth rate, and water quality. Observations were conducted during 50 days. Data on the survival rate, specific growth rate was analyzed using Test-F and Duncan's advanced test at a confidence level of 95%, while water quality was analyzed descriptively. Based on this research, the giving of 20% fresh Lemna sp. resulting in the specific growth rate of tilapia about 0,22%, and survival rate of 83,75%. This value is the same as using a commercial pellet of 3%. Nevertheless, 20% fresh Lemna sp. as fish feed is recommended.
The primordial aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of balanced aerobic program on the weight reduction of Grade 7 obese students in Sulop National High School. This utilized a mono-experimental type of research wherein the study focused mainly on the 21 students from Grade 7 identified as obese, pre-determined through the Body Mass Index Test, which was taken last July 2015.The students underwent a 12 week rigid balanced aerobics program for thirty minutes per session. Data on the pre weighing session revealed that the BMI mean of the selected 21 Grade 7 students belong to the obese group. After the 12 weeks rigid exposure to the balanced aerobics program, the post weighing BMI mean result of the selected Grade 7 students indicated a significant reduction. There was a significant difference on the BMI of the Grade 7 obese students before and after the balanced aerobic program. Balanced Aerobic Programs was effective in weight reduction, most especially if done regularly for a certain period of time.
The main purpose of this research study to understand the relationships between Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices and performance outcomes However, there is a limited study conducted to investigate the relationship between GSCM and product quality improvement. In Malaysia, the level of participation in green initiatives is low and there is also less study conducted on GSCM. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the relationship between GSCM and product quality improvement. Quantitative approach was conducted in this research and questionnaire was the major instrument used for data collection. The population of this research was 425 of manufacturing firm with certification of ISO 14001 in Peninsular Malaysia. Simple random sampling was adopted in this study with the sample size of 208. All the three hypotheses was accepted in this study which proved that there was significant relationship between eco-design, green purchasing and reverse logistics with product quality improvement respectively. As overall, it is proved that there is moderate relationship between GSCM and product quality improvement with the accepted hypotheses and the moderate correlation coefficient value. Implementing GSCM practices does bring benefits in term of improving the product’s quality. Eco-design, green purchasing and reverse logistics are the commonly adopted GSCM practices in Peninsular Malaysia. These three practices work at best state if being incorporated as much as possible in the operation and production line. The menace of unemployment has continued to be a serious concern among stakeholders in a populated country such as Nigeria. One concept that scholars and researchers have all agreed to solve the challenge of unemployment in Nigeria is entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship can be view as linking the gap between science and the marketplace, in a way that it will produce novel enterprises, and bring innovative products and services to the market. Entrepreneurship is very vital for buoyant economy and job creation. Starting a business as a small or medium scale grows gradually when the needed skill and knowledge is gained in order to be a successful business owner. It is from this premise that the study explores various entrepreneurship skills needed in order to execute a smooth running of day to day business activities especially in a populated country like Nigeria. The article also explores the difficulties of entrepreneurs and how these have affected the survival of small and medium businesses in Nigeria. Finally, the study also beam its search light on the nexus between entrepreneurship and development of Small Scale Businesses in Nigeria. The theoretical standpoint of this study is the need for Achievement Theory (n/ACH).The theory state that individual engages in doing things and getting things done which promotes entrepreneurship. Premised on the findings of the study, the study concluded that entrepreneurship is a viable tool for job creation which in turn improves and enrich the economy of the country. It is therefore recommended that government should provide financial support for innovative ideas such that individuals can transform their creative ideas into reality and strong desires to entrepreneurial education at the secondary and tertiary levels is vital for small and medium businesses development in Nigeria. Faced with the COVID-19 health crisis that has affected the planet since December 2019, the policies, economies and social well-being of the states of the world have been significantly disrupted. Started in late 2019 in China, the covid-19 has spread at an exponential rate worldwide. According to the report of the International Monetary Fund, the effects of Covid-19 on the global economy are already very noticeable, although some economists believe that they could be temporary and reversible, world growth should decline from 0.5 to 1, 5% in 2020 (IMF, 2020). To combat the virus, most of the major powers affected have applied a policy of confinement of their populations, thus causing the cessation of the world economy, trade and, by extension, the paralysis of African economies including that of the Democratic Republic from Congo. Since then, the government has continued to see day-to-day strategies for getting out of this crisis and reviving the economy. Faced with the COVID-19 epidemic which is impacting all businesses in the DRC, companies must think now about the future to anticipate the end of the crisis and rebound quickly. An opportune moment to turn to marketing practices and respond to the concerns of the moment, namely: how to react in order to boost sales in an unprecedented global crisis? how can marketing help organizations break this deadlock ? how can the influence of marketing communication be a response to the COVID-19 crisis in the DRC ?
